Our History
In 2004, a handful of families began meeting in homes to explore a vision to establish a neighborhood-based, Christ-following community in the Metro West suburbs of Boston that would speak simultaneously to our times and our traditions. After a full year of "practice" and prayer, Redeemer Community Church started meeting regularly in the fall of 2005.
Our initial intent was to focus solely on families and their needs, but God had other ideas. As we looked for space to meet on Sunday mornings, Babson College opened up its Glavin Chapel to us and the blessings we have received have been tenfold. Not only do we meet in a beautiful chapel that honors God, but we have been blessed by the energy and enthusiasm of Babson and Wellesley college students in all aspects of our church life. Now Olin and Brandeis students attend as well.
In June of 2008, our next major phase began when we welcomed Doug & Adele Calhoun as our first pastors. Since then our community has been growing steadily in character and members—thanks be to God.
