Jan Anthos

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Mat 19:14)

God placed the well-being of children on Jan's heart back in college while she was volunteering in a crisis pregnancy center. Her commitment to children continued with the sponsoring of under-privileged children and as a volunteer in the Christian education programs her own children attended, ie Sunday School and FOCUS (Fellowship of Christians in Universities and Schools). As a co-founder of Redeemer Community Church, it has been to the Children's Education program she has committed her efforts, initially developing the curriculum for the "one-room school house" model of the day, and then as part of the committee overseeing the nursery and Sunday School programs. With the help of her husband, Pano, Jan is raising three children, Daphne, Pax, and Stefan, and two dogs (does that count?), Micah and Gracie.

Concurrently, children have been the focus of Jan's career as well:

  • Overseeing product development of the Sesame Street property for Children's Television Workshop (now Sesame Workshop)
  • Merchandising the infant and toddler division of an apparel manufacturing company
  • Buying for the Children's Department at the JCPenney Company Managing a Children's Place store
